The Billionaire’s Christmas Cinderella

December 2020 - how did that happen?

I am feeling very unprepared this year, but then I feel that way every year. This weekend I am making my chutney as I do each year. Also, my writing friend M.J Scott put me onto these beautiful advent calendrers by Bonne Maman that have a little pot of preserve for each day. I got some for my children who are dotted about Australia and also for my family in the UK.

Now I am getting some lovely pictures of their breakfasts—bagels and toast for some, low-calorie crackers for others. I am living vicariously as I am trying to do low carb so no jam for me at the moment—I just stare at my daughter as she eats like my gorgeous old dog Richo used to do to me! Still, even without eating any, it is great fun, and I’m really enjoying the little peeks into breakfasts and morning-tea etc.

The book I am going to chat about was released last Christmas and is called The Billionaire’s Christmas Cinderella. The heroine, Naomi, is sweet, kind and adorable She is a maternity nanny and is in New York City to look after her best friend’s baby (Merida and Ethan Devereux from the previous book -- The Innocent’s Shock Pregnancy) The Devereux‘s are facing an emotional Christmas as their father, Jobe, is dying. Merida and Ethan are staying at “Dad’s place” while some renovations are done at their home.

“Dad’s place” happens to be a Fifth Avenue mansion and as the baby has arrived by the time Naomi land in NYC, she settles in for a night home alone and calls for a pizza.

It is *not* the pizza man who first comes to the door though. Instead, it is Abe Devereux dropping by. He is the coldest and most ruthless of the brothers, yet, Naomi somehow melts that black heart enough that when the real pizza man arrives (haha, not for a second did she mix them up), they share a pizza. The next day Abe takes her sight-seeing, and Naomi gets her first kiss amongst the snow and squirrels in Central Park…(she’ll get quite a bit more later, I promise you but at first it is just so gorgeous and sweet). Abe shows her New York City, and at the time of writing, I had only just been there, so it was so much fun to close my eyes and just re-create all the wonders except through Naomi’s eyes. She’s a bigger girl, and some would say plain, but when Abe invites her to the Devereux Ball, she completely knocks his socks off. Of course, there is no place bitchier than the Devereux Ball, and she is a threat to the elite, and poor Naomi overhears what is said about her.

Abe is going to have to work incredibly hard to turn things around and give this gorgeous heroine the Christmas she actually deserves.

I hope if you read it that you enjoy it and though it stands alone, it is probably a bit more fun if you’ve read The Innocent’s Shock Pregnancy first, so I’ve put in links for both (click on cover art).

I also hope that the festive season delivers some magic for you this year. It is going to be very different for many, and there will be some of my readers who are very sad too, and I send my love to them.

When I was going through a difficult time, a sage friend of mine told me to make my own traditions, and I have always tried to stick to that, come what may. Even if it can’t be the Christmas we want I hope you can find a little slice of time for you and perhaps make some new traditions.

Love to all and happy reading

Cxxxx
